It works for months. Then someone who unsubscribed from the newsletter buys again, and HubSpot silently skips their receipt, because marketing email respects unsubscribes. The first you hear of it is a support ticket asking for proof of payment. ## How it works 1. Build the receipt in HubSpot's email editor, with tokens for the customer's name, company, amount, and date. 2. In the workflow, copy the deal or payment details onto the contact so the template can use them. 3. Add **Send transactional email**, pick the receipt template and your billing sender profile, and map the buyer's email. 4. Branch on the result, so a failed send creates a task for the deal owner. The send appears on the contact's timeline.
